Global law firm White & Case LLP announced today that Hamish Macpherson will join the Firm's Global Commercial Litigation Practice as a partner in its Sydney office.

Macpherson counsels clients in the energy, resources, infrastructure and construction sectors on disputes involving electric, gas, solar, renewable energy, coal and transportation projects.

"Hamish is a market-leading disputes lawyer who has helped his clients address conflicts that may emerge throughout a project's life cycle," said White & Case partner Glenn Kurtz, who heads the Firm's Global Commercial Litigation Practice. "As a result, he will enhance our Practice's capabilities to handle complex litigation that commonly arises out of the development of infrastructure, resources and energy projects."

Macpherson, formerly the Global Head of Construction Disputes at Herbert Smith Freehills, has a practice that focuses on construction litigation. He also provides strategic advice to clients on how to manage construction claims.

"Hamish has successfully acted for clients on a number of landmark cases in Australian courts," said White & Case partner Eric Berg, Head of Asia-Pacific. "Hamish will draw on these experiences to advise our clients in high-stakes commercial disagreements that take place on the ground in Australia."

The lawyers in White & Case's Global Commercial Litigation Practice represent the interests of clients in all types of trial, appellate, regulatory and alternative dispute resolution tribunals around the world. They advise financial institutions, large corporations, sovereign governments, executives and directors through their most significant litigation challenges.
